Latest News On Thursday 24th July 2008 APC Prosthetics (Hunter) held their first Information/Open Day at their refurbished Broadmeadow facility.
APC Hunter's Manager, Ron Wright welcomed those attending which included physicians, rehabilitation consultants, physiotherapists, prosthetists, occupational therapists, case managers, local media and representatives from the Amputee Association.
A demonstration on Transfemoral gait analysis and training techniques was presented by leading Amputee Physiotherapist Cathy Howells.
Fiona Barnett and Matt Henderson from Ossur Asia Pacific, demonstrated the world’s first artificially intelligent and motor powered foot module – the Proprio.
During lunch guests viewed various trade displays and spoke to staff at education stations located around the hunter facility. Various production techniques were demonstrated including the i-Limb.
Steve Harland from Otto Bock presented a C-leg and Myo-electric upper extremity overview.
Prosthetist Ian Robertson from APC (Hunter) presented an overview on Prosthetics Management.
APC Prosthetics (Hunter) intends promoting the Information Day on a regular basis. |
